A mover and shaker in the field of design and engagement, Sonia-Lynn works to break down barriers to the design process while developing meaningful relationships with her community partners - locally and abroad. Sonia-Lynn strives to be a student of life, taking in history, culture, art, fashion, community and food to inform her ever-evolving design aesthetic and approach to building relationships.
Sonia-Lynn is an architectural designer and project manager extraordinaire of La Union Studio. She is inspired by colors, beautiful patterns, interesting spaces, and people.
As a full-time creative and entrepreneur, she designs spaces and places that embrace culture, inspire a sense of belonging, build community with new and different people – all while traveling to experience beautiful art + architecture and delicious food. Through her work at La Union Studio, she strives to cultivate a sense of empowerment for Black, Indigenous, and communities of color in Seattle’s ever changing landscape. She identifies as Filipina-American and grew up in South Seattle where she was exposed to a wide range of identities and culture, which informs her approach to relationship building and design of the built environment. Sonia-Lynn currently serves as a member of 4Culture's Public Art Advisory Committee where she advocates for the arts and cultural placemaking in King County.
